if commercially available and with cooperation from the lecturers |

Ensure a balanced collection of information sources within financial constraints |

Provide group training sessions in the information literacy skills required
to use our services correctly and to assess your information needs |

Provide the information or feedback on requests within two working days
of receiving a written client request |

Have an information specialist available for appointments |

| Postgraduate Students |
| We request you to: |

Register as library users, abide by the rules and keep your student registration card with you at all times |
 |
Adhere to the Code of Conduct and be co-responsible for the conservation and
maintenance of the collection, infrastructure and physical facilities |
 |
Buy the prescribed books |
 |
Be computer literate |
 |
Make yourself available for training in information literacy |
 |
Make appointments with the relevant information specialist if in need of his/her services |
 |
Collect any interlibrary requests within 14 days of notification |

| Teaching and research staff |
| We request you to: |

Be co-responsible for the creation of a balanced and comprehensive subject collection |
 |
Keep up to date with the latest developments in the Department of Library Services
and continuously and accurately pass on this information to your department and students |
 |
Adhere to the Code of Conduct |
 |
Make the information on prescribed and recommended books available as requested |
 |
Supply the information needs and student numbers for assignments one month
beforehand in order to enable the information specialists to obtain the information timeously
and to create copies and relevant products |

Arrange a training session for the post-graduate and distance
students during the first contact session |
