Introduction to e-Resources

Authentication: Accessing e-resources (incl. databases)

To access full text electronic resources, you will be prompted for a Username (your surname), and your Student/Personnel nr. If you experience problems accessing the resources, please contact your Information Specialist .

Databases available "On Campus Only"

Where indicated that e-resources are available On Campus Only, you can get access to the e-resource in one of two ways:

For databases on standalone CD ROM, please contact the library inquiries desk serving your specific faculty.

Download Software

Download Adobe Reader Version 8.0 - To view and print the full text of articles, you will need a reader. To download a reader, download it from the library:

Adobe Version 9 (on campus) or Adobe Version 9 (off campus) (Size: 34 MB)
Previous versions: Adobe 7.0 - Adobe 6.0 - Adobe 8.1- Adobe Version 8.1.1

CD Databases & Applications menu

This menu is only accessible from computers ON CAMPUS.

Novell Client32 need to be installed on your computer.

Open the directory: file://naboo/appl/zenclient

Double click on the ZFDagent.msi file.

An InstallShieldWizard will open. Click on Next.

Check the option for I accept license agreement, and click on Next.

Click once again on Next at the Custom Setup frame.

You will be requested for a DNS name - leave blank.

Leave the HTTP port settings on 80 and click on Next.

Check the Launch application explorer at start up when Windows start and click on Next.

Zenworks tree must be up-tree. Click Next.

12.

Click on Install. It may take a few minutes for the process to complete.

Click on Finish. Click Yes when prompted by the reboot frame.

The CD Databases & Applications icon will now be installed on your computer desktop.

Trials

A trial refers to free access to journal collections or databases for a restricted period (usually 1 month). Trials are usually provided by a vendor for evaluation purposes. The institution makes the decision to purchase only if satisfied with the content, accessibility, usability and delivery during the trial period. Access a list of electronic resources currently on trial.
