The UP Publications Collection
consists of publications by and about every person and all bodies connected
with the University. It also
includes publications dealing
with the University itself.
It is not to be confused with
unpublished material which is
housed in the UP Archives. Its
home is in the Special Collections
Unit of the Library on level
5 of the Merensky building where
it can be visited on the basis
of a one day internal loan.
Included are all the works
of creative authors who have
had some kind of association
with the University. Titles
marked *** are not (or no longer) in the
Library. Donations of copies would be very welcome.
Born as recently as 1979 thanks
to a decision by the Senate,
the collection is growing not
only forwards but also backwards
in time – a continuous search
is being conducted for stray
publications from the decades
before 1980. As soon as they’re
found the strays will be added
to the collection and given
a place in the on-line bibliography.
Details about publications
not found in the Library’s
catalogue can be
communicated to Special
Collections
