*I make a big production number about how we have things don't need man to exist - rain, rocks, plants, trees - in 500. In 600, we have things from 500 man was made to work for him. IE, in 500, we have wolves but in 600 we have dogs. We grow the food in 500 but we cook it in 600. We have trees in 500 but we build houses from wood in 600. I do this until they get the idea. Never takes long! :-)

The little caveman images came from an old handout I was given in college. As there was no name or copyright info on the sheets, I cannot acknowledge gratefully the person who did them by name. But thank you whoever you are. They are perfect examples.

Coming soon - follow up lessons.
Now that we have them interested in the numbers,
let's get them to use them!!!
