In March 2000 a best-selling author, Stephen King, released a new work Riding the Bullet exclusively on the Internet.
King, who has published some 30 bestsellers on paper, chose to release the 66-page novella in cyberspace alone.
Within 24 hours 400,000 readers had downloaded the book. (Online Newshour, March 16, 2000)
